Wonersh and Shamley Green Church of England Primary School is a nurturing, inclusive community providing an excellent education for the children in our care. We offer children a safe and secure learning environment, both inside and outside the classroom, utilising our fantastic facilities and wonderful woodlands to inspire and explore.
At WSG, we underpin a genuine passion for art in a wide variety of forms. We deliver high-quality art lessons to encourage our children to think innovatively and creatively and value art as an important part of a broad and balanced curriculum. We have a strong school-wide motto that ‘everyone is an artist’, which not only encourages confidence and self belief, but enables us to celebrate art in all it's forms.
Our Year 5 pupils have recently been working on portraits and face structure as well as studying cultural drawings from Australia. They have had opportunities to experiment with papier mache, pastels, acrylic paint and drawing materials. We are very proud of the work they have produced.
