The Visual Art Department of St Richard’s Catholic College is dedicated to nurturing critical thinking and visual literacy through an engaging, supportive, and collaborative studio environment. As a community we actively encourage our pupils to express themselves through a variety of creative means including drawing, painting, graphics, photography, ceramics, printing and architecture. Our curriculum is designed with the whole child in mind, to foster independence through differentiated and self-directed work. We develop a lifelong aptitude and desire to learn, explore, create, and invent. Pupils are encouraged to experiment, take risks and create their own unique solutions. This leads to a school where art is part of the fabric of our daily lives, on our walls, but more importantly, in all of our hearts.
