At St Paul’s we know that pupils learn best when their curiosity is engaged, and throughout their journey with us, children’s eyes are opened to the diversity of art, craft and design around the world. As the children journey with us, they should develop a deep body of knowledge that they can draw upon, as they develop their own artistic identities. We hope that in years to come, our children will be celebrating artists who honed their skills.
We ensure that our children have developed skills in using a range of materials and mediums, so they can independently make choices for themselves in the future.
Our Year 5 cohort are split between 2 classes. One class chose Art work based on work inspired by Banksy and links to our PSHE curriculum based on past, present and future of our planet. The other class created Art inspired by the artists Van Gogh and Picasso.
The children used a range of techniques and medium pastels, paint, chalk and felt pens. We are so proud of the artwork they have created.
