At St Helens we are a lively, happy school family, where children are engaged in their learning and are keen to do their best. We all try to live by our values of Respect, Courage, Endurance, Resilience, Compassion and Trust. Our staff are dedicated to the success of every individual in the school and work hard to provide an engaging and exciting curriculum so that all the children are able to reach their full potential.
Our Year 5’s this term have been doing an artist study on Leonardo Da Vinci and learning the techniques of pencil drawing. Their focus was portraits and the children made their own choice of whether to do a self-portrait or their own version of the Mona Lisa as their final piece. We believe that our children can make their own artistic decisions when it comes to their art work, so they could finish them using either soft or oil pastel or to leave them as pencil.
