For 40 years, Southbank has stood at the forefront of providing a world-class education to children and young people from London’s international community and the UK.
At the heart of the school are the programmes of the International Baccalaureate. These are challenging curricula that have been carefully developed to encourage students across the world to become active, compassionate and lifelong learners who understand that other people, with their differences, can also be right.
The Arts are thriving at Southbank, we offer the MYP and DP programme. At Diploma level we are fortunate to offer Music, Drama, Film and Theater arts at Southbank
The aim of our MYP Visual Arts classes is to give our students the knowledge and skills they need to solve problems creatively, develop an understanding of a range of fine art media, critique the work of others, and confidently express their feelings, experiences and ideas. The selection of art work contributions for Art bytes, following research into the art making of puppets from different cultures, are a selection of sculpted puppets made from clay and paper mache, designed and made by Year 8 students. These were inspired by characters from old fairy tales, cultural folk stories or myths. There are also some paintings which students have developed in their own time outside the classroom.
