Scott Primary school is a two-form entry school in north Bedford. Our school provides a safe, caring, friendly and welcoming environment, with our children at the heart of all we do. In Year 5 we have been learning about the work of Kandinsky and experimenting with developing a 'painterly' style. The children explored Kandinsky's journey as an artist and investigated how his painting style changed from realistic representations to abstract artworks. Then, they experimented with colour theory and brush strokes to push the boundaries of how they paint (developing towards abstraction) and to create movement, light and shadow. Finally, using acrylic paints and oil pastels, they created their own vibrant landscape artwork in the style of Kandinsky.
