Parkgate Primary School is a large three form entry in the north of Coventry. We are proud of our diverse school family and celebrate our cultures and differences. Creativity and visual arts are an important part of our individual learning journeys and we strive for all children to reach their artistic potential. As well as art in our curriculum we have regular whole school art days with a PSHCE and sculpture focus As a school we collaborate with the local secondary school on creative projects and we were awarded the Gold Artsmark award in 2023. During the academic year 2023-2024 we were lucky enough to work with a local sculptor looking at the redevelopment of our city centre. Our Year Five children have been working on the theme of ‘dragons’ during literacy lessons and have created their art work using painting and mixed media. We have seen some wonderful progress in our children’s art work and a development of skills and knowledge. We are very proud of the artwork that the children have created.
