At Lynnfield Primary School we work together as a team to ensure that all children make excellent progress and attain the highest possible standards, whilst being cared for and nurtured. We aim to ensure pupils have a wide range of opportunities to succeed in academic work as well as music, sport and the arts.
The principles of nurture and our 6 virtues are at the heart of our school community. Our school virtues of kindness, respect, stickability, tolerance, courage and calmness are the values that shape the way all members of our school act. Developing children’s positive attitudes and character are promoted and actively taught through these virtues. This philosophy helps to make sure our school is a vibrant, caring learning environment that guarantees children’s individual needs are very well catered for.
We are an inclusive school. All members of our school team have high expectations for our children. We endeavour to make sure we have the fullest possible understanding of your child’s needs so we can tailor learning opportunities in order to secure excellent progress and enable your child to thrive. At the heart of our curriculum are our four curriculum drivers: Inspiration, Aspiration, Partnership with Parents and Inclusion for All. At Lynnfield Primary School we aim to motivate, inspire and challenge pupils to become creative, independent learners with high self-esteem.
It is our intention that we make sure every child in our school feels safe, valued and has a sense of belonging to our school community.
Visual arts is a highly valued part of our school curriculum. We aim to provide all of students the opportunity to learn new skills and explore and develop their creativty and most importantly, have fun! Our curriculum aims to allow our children to express themselves in ways that the more academic subjects may not, with the aim to develop self-confidence and self-epression. Every child at Lynnfield is an artist. We just provide the tools and skills for them to be the very best they can be.
Our submissions were based on the children wanting to represent where they live. As Hartlepool is a seaside town, they chose the theme of 'Oceans' as the basis of their work and what they felt about the sea. The childrens thoughts ranged from environmental concerns, life in the ocean, their own personal views and motivational quotes based on how they wanted their art to make people feel when they see it. They were provided with a wide range of collage materials, including different types of paint, papers, images, pencils, buttons, beads, fabric and yarns. We started off experimenting with different techniques e.g. watercolour painting, yarn wrapping and paper tearing, then sketched plenty of ideas before choosing our final idea to create as our submisson. All the children had the most amazing time being totally independenlty creative and just allowing their creativity to flow. They shared their ideas, helped each other and I hope you can appreciate from their amazing final pieces, just how incredibily hard they have worked. It was an absolute pleasure to spend time with these wonderfully creative youngminds and watching them just simply have fun. I hope you enjoy their work as much as they enjoyed making them.
