Hillcrest is a happy school, at the heart of its community, where both children and staff feel valued and nurtured. Our school is a fun place to be and there is always something happening to enhance an already exciting curriculum. Art is a subject Hillcrest takes seriously! Every child has an art lesson each week where skills and techniques are developed along side opportunities to explore their own creativity, often encompassing the learning from other subject areas. Whilst studying the ancient Maya, the Year 5 students at Hillcrest were spell bound by the power the Mayas bestowed upon the creatures of the forest. This they endeavoured to convey in their mixed media Maya animal portraits.
