Castleford Academy is part of Castleford Trust, which is a cross phase Multi Academy Trust comprising of nine schools: three secondary academies, and six primary academies. The Trust is a medium sized family of schools all located within a geographic cluster within Wakefield.
The academy delivers some of the best results in the Wakefield Authority for its pupils and is celebrated for the amount of progress they achieve throughout their time at the academy.
Art is a popular subject with pupils in all years and pupil attainment is significantly above national averages for GCSE Art pupils.
Pupils are taught and reinforced the formal elements through a wide range of starting points. They develop their skills using a wide range of materials, techniques and processes. They have regularly participated with outside specialists at Wakefield Museum, Active Arts, Leeds Art University, Burberry Inspire and the Hepworth Gallery.
