Art Bytes 2023 Celebration Events and Winners

On 7th June 2023, the second series of Art Bytes Celebration Events took place in prestigious cultural venues across England. Families, teachers and students came together to congratulate every child and young person who has taken part in Art Bytes this year, and champion the importance of creativity in schools.

Every shortlisted child from the 71 schools participating was presented with a certificate, winners for each of the 9 regions were announced, and the national winners and runners up in each age group were presented with a fantastic range of prizes.

As well as the in-person events, a Live Stream was also available for schools to watch, or show later in school, broadcast from the North East event at the Biscuit Factory in Newscastle.

The North East is also home to both our national winners for 2023; National Primary Winner – Seb Sabin from Newminster Middle School with his piece ”Rainbow Tyne”  and National Secondary Winner, Maggie Lu from Royal Grammar School Newcastle with her piece “Cultural Portrait”.
